Lindsey Seegers

Director of External Affairs

Lindsey Seegers is a mission-focused nonprofit leader experienced in program development, community engagement, and public speaking. As both a social worker and culinary professional, Lindsey shifted from food banking to Kitchens for Good’s root-cause work in 2018 to combine her passion for social justice, curriculum and croissants. Her work in education (learners aged 5-80) spans more than a decade, from elementary Special Education to grassroots community nutrition.

As the former Distribution Network Engagement Manager of Feeding San Diego, Lindsey managed 160 Community and College Partnerships serving 63,000 San Diegans each week, as well as the County’s Retail Rescue Program and Starbucks Foodshare Program that redirected 13 million pounds of rescued food to San Diegans in 2018. At Manna Food Center in Maryland, she managed the retrofitting, design, and educational programming of a 72-passenger school bus into a licensed commercial kitchen and mobile food pantry.

For fifteen years, Lindsey has served as a regular presenter and guest lecturer on food insecurity, strengths-based storytelling around social inequality, and adoptee-birthparent reunions; she is also a licensed Episcopal lay preacher. Lindsey is an active member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and has been featured by The Kitchn, Share Our Strength, SWAY San Diego, KUSI, and Voice of America. Lindsey holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Public Relations from Christopher Newport University and a Graduate Certificate in Nutrition from the George Mason University School of Global Public Health.
