Howard Solomon is a renowned leader, advisor, presenter and keynote speaker for the hospitality industry. He is a highly experienced operations executive with over 40 years in the restaurant industry, specifically in the building, opening, and operating of restaurants. He has held executive positions with the Hard Rock Café, Cheesecake Factory, and Wolfgang Food Company.
Howard has a proven ability to successfully analyze an organization’s critical business requirements, identify deficiencies and potential opportunities, and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving guest service. He has taught companies and their leaders on how to build strong functional organizations through effective hiring practice, successful training programs, and rallying people to a common purpose.
During his career as a hospitality consultant, Howard has worked with over 90 clients on various projects and orchestrated the start-up and development of more than 30 unique restaurant concepts. He has worked with many different types of restaurants including, quick service, fast-casual, family, high-end, breweries, hotels, casinos, and more. His clients include small independents to national brands.
Howard’s many contributions to the restaurant industry also include assisting in real estate decisions and the evaluation of leases along with drafting policies and procedures and publishing employee handbooks. Additionally, he worked with many third-party platforms to assist management in controlling food and labor expenses on a daily basis.
Howard cultivates powerful management teams by coaching managers on how to be great leaders. He teaches the importance of empowering and inspiring team members which leads to the reduction in staff turnover and creates accountability among staff members.
Today, Howard works with strong hospitality-driven companies from around the world that are striving for more robust leadership teams. He coaches, mentors and speaks to managers and executives on how to rally their people and build confidence, which ultimately leads to personal growth and the next level of success for the businesses they are operating. He provides tools on empowering people and explores techniques to increase accountability, build confidence, and inspire others.
Howard’s philosophy is that when a staff is properly inspired by a great leadership team, they will feel more committed to their job, have a higher level of job satisfaction, and perform better…all of which will lead to increased productivity. He believes the time is now to pay it forward and bring his leadership passion to the next generation of leaders.
