Founder of Hummingbird Needlepoint
Catherine Blair has been active in the San Diego community for 40 years. She has extensive experience with the nonprofit sector as a volunteer, committee member, board member and fundraiser. Her involvement has included Rady Children’s Hospital, The Junior League of San Diego, the March of Dimes, the San Diego Mental Health Association, The Bishop’s School, The San Diego Women’s Foundation, Susan G. Komen of San Diego and the Sustainability Advisory Board for the City of Del Mar.
Catherine retired from The Bishop’s School in 2008. During her tenure there she served as Admissions Counselor, Director of College Counseling and Dean of Academic Affairs. She holds a BS in Journalism and a MA in Psychology.
In 2010 Catherine started Hummingbird Needlepoint. She designs and produces a line of hand painted needlepoint canvases which are sold in stores throughout the country. She donates a portion of all sales to the breast cancer programs of Susan G. Komen.
Catherine and her husband Phil live in Del Mar and are the parents of two grown sons. They have two wonderful daughters-in-law and two adorable granddaughters.
